Gran Turismo involves Astro's Playroom with a brand new special bot challenge

Almost 4 years after its launch as a PlayStation 5 demo, Astro Playroom finally added a nostalgic nod to Gran Turismo in the shape of a brand new “Special Bot” challenge.

For the past few months, the parents at Team Asobi have been promoting the upcoming Astrobot a title with a series of side quests in Astro PlayroomThis compact title was each a technological showcase for the DualSense controller and a cheeky celebration of PlayStation's heritage.

If you aren’t aware of Astro Playroomwe now have no say within the matter until you play the sport. Aside from being free and included with every PS5 console, it’s an ideal little platformer that’s absolutely filled with references to PlayStation history.

There’s actually a dedicated area that progressively fills up with PS hardware you collect throughout the sport, from consoles to obscure add-ons just like the PocketStation and PSP GPS receiver. Despite being the best-selling PlayStation franchise in history, though, references to GT are few and much between. There’s a gold trophy called “A Grand Tour,” but if you consider there’s one other, silver trophy called “Omega Booster” — a nod to Polyphony Digital’s non-racing title — that’s not much.

This will release the Special Robot in an easy animation, and also you might be awarded the bronze “Grand Tourist” trophy, in addition to placing the robot in a small corner of the “Secret Labo” area contained in the PlayStation Labo.

Astrobot might be released on September 6 for PlayStation 5, priced at $59.99 for the usual edition and $69.99 for the Digital Deluxe version.
