ADAC reveals recent logo, synthetic fuel plan for DTM

ADAC has unveiled a brand recent DTM logo as a part of the championship's renewed brand identity.

Designed in collaboration with Munich-based sports branding agency UnitedSenses, the brand new logo was first unveiled to the general public finally weekend's Hockenheim final and can take effect immediately.

The recent design is characterised by the yellow and black colours of the German automobile club ADAC, which bought the DTM from its previous owner, ITR, at the tip of 2022.

After the acquisition, ADAC implemented an updated version of the emblem originally introduced by ITR, but made one other change at the tip of the show's fortieth season.

In a press release, ADAC said the emblem will likely be accompanied by “a new broadcast and digital identity, while different design solutions for print and event products will ensure consistent branding for all brand experiences in DTM.”

ADAC also announced that from 2025 the DTM will switch to 100% synthetic and fossil fuel-free fuel.

Manufactured by P1 Fuels and authorized by the FIA, the switch to synthetic petrol will help the series reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 75%.

P1 Fuels is already involved in motorsports and has experience in supplying fully sustainable fuel for the World Rally Championship.

“We are now taking a significant step in the further development of the series and strengthening the DTM's role as a pioneer in the field of sustainability in motorsport,” said ADAC Motorsport director Thomas Voss.

“We are bringing greater sustainability to the DTM platform with a brand new synthetic and climate-friendly fuel. In this fashion, we reveal the potential of synthetic fuels in one of the vital popular racing series in Europe.

“We also present the series in a dynamic version; The new brand image will be provided by modern branding.”

Lamborghini factory driver Mirko Bortolotti was crowned the 2024 DTM champion after ending second to Luca Engstler in Sunday's final race at Hockenheim.

The next DTM season, the forty first within the history of the championship, will start in Oschersleben on April 26–27.
